After having been a west Michigan wedding photographer for about 5 years in this gorgeous area (aka: my stompin’ grounds), I have photographed and had my eye on the best of the best wedding venues for you from St. Joseph, to South Haven, to Grand Rapids, to Bloomfield Township, to North-West Michigan, and everything in between!
And I absolutely LOVE getting to experience so many different venues with my clients! Starting off with the new kid on the block, freshly built Etre farms is a STUNNER! If you are looking for a unique, modern farmhouse wedding venue in West Michigan that has all the space needed, inside AND out, then this is going to be the perfect vibe for you! With a subtle nod to the popular barn weddings, this is a glorious clean-white and minimal canvas to capture your wedding day! With gorgeous outdoor views, expansive garden space, and green rolling hills everywhere you turn, this place will not disappoint! Etre Farms interior is fresh, clean, crisp, and the perfect palette to display your own style with high class elegance and beauty. From a photographer’s perspective, you can’t go wrong with all of this natural light!

Coming in hot with the second on my list, is this stunning botanical garden wedding venue, that is naturally-lit on every angle (a photographer’s dream), and basically a greenhouse living her best and most luxurious life. Friends, ladies, gentlemen, I give you the Planterra Conservatory in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan. This conservatory features stunning ceiling to floor natural light, greenery galore, and is the perfect place for a modern “bring-the-outside-indoors” approach to your wedding day. Sound like you? Honestly it’s hard to say no, isn’t it? I totally agree.

Tabor Hill is another one of my favorite venues that I found in my search, and provides a classic-but-modern approach to your wedding! A clear, wide open pergola with all the space you need and ALL the natural light (I feel like there’s a theme here with the venues I like–no?)! This venue is perfect for couples who want to experience the beauty of an outdoor wedding, but still have the shelter for their reception, so that their wedding day is rain-friendly. And quite frankly, with this set-up, a rainy day could be the most romantic thing ever. The scenery of rolling vineyard hills and the boho and vintage styles of the furniture and design is a gorgeous combination, so if you are looking for a lot of options, a rain-proof wedding venue, and glorious scenery, Tabor Hill is an incredible choice!

Need a city wedding? You came to the right place. :) The Downtown Market within downtown Grand Rapids is my TOP PICK for couples who are looking for intimate or large weddings alike! The glass roof and walls make for some of the most gorgeous views of downtown Grand Rapids, while also letting in so much natural light! If you’re looking for something like the Planterra Conservatory that might hit closer to your Grand Rapids stomping grounds (and maybe a bit lower in cost), the Downtown Market is honestly a perfect choice! The banquet room and greenhouse portion of the venue will knock your socks off with its wide-open and clean space, and rain or shine, this venue will have you covered (literally)! The Downtown Market GR truly has the perfect urban setting and greenhouse-esque vibe for your West Michigan wedding.

The Felt Mansion has a sweet spot in my lil ole heart, and believe me, she is going to take your breath away. Offering you multiple options of ceremony spaces, they offer a cute and quant ceremony in front of the classic white chapel, or saying your I-do’s in the middle of a massive, gorgeous stone-encircled pool, surrounded by evergreens as a backdrop. With the jaw-dropping restored ballroom, this mansion will be a venue with all of the most gorgeous nooks and settings to capture a classic vintage wedding in West Michigan! Situated near the lakeshore in Holland Michigan, and butted right up against the glorious wooded trails and beaches of Saugatuck Dunes State Park, this unbelievable West Michigan wedding venue will make all your cozy, vintage, old world wedding venue dreams come true.

WE LOVE A GLASS HOUSE WEDDING! Black Sheep Shelter in South Haven, Michigan has one of the most beautiful, intimate wedding venues. With its rustic, boho vibes, and gorgeous scenery, this would make a beautiful choice for a West Michigan couple looking to tie the knot! The farmhouse feel is the perfect match with its classic and charming vibes, giving you the feel and lighting of the outdoors, but protection from the elements and the backdrop of an enchanting structure. One of my FAVORITE parts of shooting at Black Sheep Shelter is that you’re covered in case of rain, but there’s still no compromise for the photos. It’s giant canopy-covered reception (and ceremony) space has open air and zero walls on 3 sides, which provides the perfect lighting for any wedding day, which creates incredible cohesiveness in your final wedding photography gallery. You want a venue I’ve shot at and highly recommend? This venue is 200% on that list!

This hilltop venue has views for days, and it may be as close as you get to a mountaintop wedding venue in Michigan. So if you’re a view-person, and love breathing in the air and views of wide-open landscapes as far as the eye can see, this Cedar, Michigan wedding venue is perfect for you. And Michigan doesn’t have a lot of open-views, so we have to really hype-up the ones we do have! Bay View gives endless options and one of the most breathtaking settings I’ve ever seen, and getting married with the bay stunningly displayed behind you will make for some of the most jaw-dropping photos! Spacious, classic, and extraordinary, this unique Michigan wedding venue will make you go weak at the knees!

Ok, did I save the best for last? Don’t tell the others I said this–but YES. Can we all just drool over this venue for a second? YOU GUYS. GreenCrest Manor has all of the old world charm, and classic vintage aesthetic you could ever desire. Sparkling fountains, ivy-covered walls, crisp and character filled interior… did someone say a Jane Austen inspired wedding venue exists…in Michigan? This French, European-style Michigan wedding venue has the moody, timeless, old world, and historical feel, and will have you feeling like you’re living in a period drama. I would be over-the-moon to create your stunning wedding photography in a canvas like this. Who wouldn’t want to get married in a place that has the feel of an old manor house and a castle all rolled into one!
