Holland Michigan Modern Rooftop Wedding at Port 393 — Adam & Kennedi

My goodness gracious, could I imagine a more incredible couple to work with? I think notttt…?

Seriously, Kennedi and Adam are one of those couples that I just straight up–don’t know what I did to deserve them. 

I don’t even know where to begin with their wedding.

Kennedi and Adam have impeccable and unique style for starters. It’s fun, it’s fresh, it’s modern, it’s nostalgic, it’s daring, it’s classic–I mean just look through the gallery and you’ll know what I mean. 

I think one of my favorite parts of their day stylistically, is that they chose Port 393, a luxury rooftop wedding venue in Holland Michigan (about a 45 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids) and right around the corner from their venue were these gravel pits with giant mounds of earthy-white colored gravel. 

Kennedi asked if taking photos there was a good idea, and I was so on board. Turned out - it was one of the best decisions we could have made! The salt flat-esque gravel pits (in West Michigan, no less) paired perfectly with their clean and modern style, and the light bouncing off the ground in that space was genuine perfection.

Another thing I absolutely loved about their day is that they chose NOT to have a first look!

A “first look,” for those that don’t know, is a time where the couple sees one another before the ceremony–and they do so alone. 

Adam and Kennedi told me they would rather keep it traditional and see each other for the first time at the altar. SO, we did a bit of tweaking to the wedding timeline, and it worked perfect! We were able to fit everything into the day comfortably, so that they were able to see each other for the first time as Kennedi walked down the aisle. (OMFG THE PHOTOS OF THIS MOMENT WRECK ME.)
